| Finding a Group
It's possible to find a particular group in three ways: Category,
Location and Search.
Category or Location
Select 'Resource Directory'
from the left-hand menu. Select 'Category' or 'Location' from
the right-hand pane. The figures in brackets (#) indicate the
number of organizations included within this item. Select a category
or location to show the organization's name and description.
To call up details about a particular group select 'Details
about <group name>'.
If no groups are listed within a category the message 'No Groups
Listed' will show.
The KCRD categories have been reorganized to better represent
the spectrum of community services. Please click
for a complete list.
Search the Directory
Type in a word or combination of words (a query) to the 'Find:'
textbox and hit 'Search'. Searches are case-insensitive.
All search queries are treated as an exact phrase search, meaning
that if you intend to search for 'Nelson Public Library' those
words must appear in the KCRD in that exact order. Use the AND,
OR, NOT functions listed below to help direct your search.
Search Help
AND
If you wish to search for words located anywhere within the KCRD
in no particular order you can use the AND operator. For example,
to search for 'Nelson Public Library' with all of the words existing
in the name or description in any order, you would enter: Nelson
and Public and Library.
OR
A search using OR between terms will match either one of the terms.
For example, to search for a museum with either a Nelson or mining
focus you would enter: museum and
Nelson or mining.
NOT
To exclude terms from your search, use NOT. To search for all
listings about religion that do not contain the word 'Christianity',
for example, you would enter: religion
not Christianity.
